Keynote Speakers:
Steve Rubel is SVP, Director of Insights for Edelman Digital, and is responsible for keeping Edelman and its clients in the vanguard. He studies global technology, media and Online trends and shapes them into actionable insights and marketing communications strategies. In his role, Rubel curates white papers on digital trends. These are distributed free to clients. In addition, he draws on these insights in his role as a senior strategic advisor to Edelman clients such as PepsiCo, Zagat, Unilever, Microsoft and many others. Rubel supports the account planning processes, intellectual property development and the firm's innovation and business development efforts. He is a member of the Edelman Digital senior leadership committee. His writings on emerging technology have been called must-read by the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, CNET, PC Magazine and Forrester Research. In addition, he is actively followed by more than 26,000 on Twitter, writes a bi-weekly column for Advertising Age and is often sought by the press and as a keynote speaker. Rubel has been named to several prestigious lists, including: PR Week's 40 Under 40, The Forbes.com Web Celeb 25, PC Magazine's 100 Favorite Blogs, Media Magazine's Media 100, the AlwaysOn/Technorati Open Media 100 and the CNET News.com Blog 100. Prior to joining Edelman in 2006, Rubel worked for 15 years in a variety of marketing communications positions in corporate, non-profit and small/mid-sized PR firms. Most recently, he spent five years at CooperKatz & Company where he pioneered the use of blogs as a marketing vehicle for clients such as the Association of National Advertisers, simplehuman and Vespa.
Elizabeth Margles is Vice President, Marketing for the Loblaw Companies Limited. She is responsible for the General Merchandise side of the business, which includes Joe Fresh Style and President's Choice Home. In this role, Elizabeth oversees all advertising, merchandising, public relations, and retail execution on a national basis. Prior to this role, Elizabeth was Vice President of Communications for Loblaws. Before joining Loblaws, she worked at a number of global advertising and public relations agencies on international mandates for the mining industry, food, packaged goods, and apparel. Elizabeth has a BA from McGill in Communications and a Masters Degree in Environmental Studies.
Didier Mormesse is Senior Vice President Advertising Sales Research & Development/Audience Insight, CNN International. Based in the Paris office, Mormesse is responsible for overseeing all aspects of research for advertising sales, editorial/programming and digital media across the CNN International portfolio (TV, Online, Mobile). In this position, Didier also manages teams of researchers based in the London, Paris and New York offices of the Turner Broadcasting System. Prior to joining CNN in 1997, Mormesse was Marketing and Research Director at Eurosport.
Adrian Schauer is Co-Managing Partner at Vortex Mobile. Vortex provides marketing technology solutions for companies looking to activate their brands through the Mobile and Social Network channels. Under his leadership, Vortex has been recognized as one of Profit magazine's Hot 50 Start-ups and Backbone magazine's Top 25 Up & Coming Technology Companies. Adrian has also been recognized as one of Marketing magazine's 2007 Ones to Watch. Prior to Vortex, Adrian was a Manager In New Product Development at Rogers Wireless where he was responsible for SMS products, cross-carrier initiatives, and the launch of North America's first Mobile music download service. Adrian also served as the chair of the Cross-Carrier Short Code Council, Cross-Carrier Content Storefront Council and mCommerce Committee. Adrian holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Normand Miron, Creative Director, Inpix, is well known as a heavy-hitting interactive creative dude with a quick wit and a huge intolerance for Monday mornings... Normand Miron has spent a number of years working on interactive accounts such as Volkswagen, Air Canada, Budweiser, l'Oréal Paris, Mastercard, Johnson & Johnson, Rogers Wireless, Tourisme Québec and Maybelline New York; and is a fierce defender of sites that step up, and banners that stand out, Normand has also sat on the juries of a variety of Interactive competitions including the London International Awards, the New York Festival of Festivals, the Cresta Awards, the Digital Marketing Awards, the Applied Arts Interactive Awards, the Boomerang Awards, and many, many, more. He recently joined Inpix as Creative Director after having worked with Palm+Havas and Marketel/McCann Ericson, and for his own creative shop, pizza4all.
